Application Analyst/DBA – Permanent – East Anglia
A major Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical organisation has a fantastic opportunity for an Application Analyst/DBA, specialising in SharePoint 2007 administration to join the IT Applications team based in East Anglia. This team consists of two Application Analysts reporting to the IT Applications Manager and is responsible for delivery of business applications and SharePoint solutions to the site.
The role
- Maintenance and support of a SharePoint environment
- Identifying and implementing business process improvements using SharePoint
- Developing, documenting and maintaining an understanding of custom SharePoint solutions
- Face to face interaction with customers to generate and document business processes and requirements
- Design and creation of SharePoint solutions including supporting documentation
- Giving training and support to all levels of user
- Installation, configuration and support of business applications
- Day to day administration of MS SQL and/or Oracle databases
- Installation and configuration of MS SQL and/or Oracle databases
- Advising on DBA best practices
- Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and user guides
- Management of application and database monitoring tools
- Previous experience providing business analysis support as required resulting in accurate and comprehensive business requirements.
- Candidates must have a strong background in SharePoint administration and at least junior database administration experience.
- Background in .NET development would be advantageous
- Microsoft SharePoint MCTS, one of: MS SQL MCTS, Oracle OCA – desirable
- Experience of working for a Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical organization would be advantageous
