EHS Officer (environment health and safety)   – Permanent – East Anglia

A major Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical organisation has a fantastic opportunity for an EHS (environment health and safety) Officer to join the team based in East Anglia. The EHS Officer develops and manages the incident management process ensuring quality standards for effectiveness of investigations and resulting actions for a major Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical organisation.

The Role

  • Reviews incidents and supports personnel in completing high quality investigations and resulting actions
  • Monitors effectiveness of investigations and resulting actions
  • Identifies incident trends and reports to functional EHS Leads in order for improvements to be identified
  • Assists Functional Leads in the development of programmes based upon incident trends
  • Provides EHS advice regarding standard issues to managers and employees
  • Conducts document reviews
  • Supports risk analysis and risk assessments
  • Supports EHS Dept staff to provide training
  • Assists with new starter inductions and delivers awareness training to all staff
  • Assists in developing topics for EHS Forums for discussion and generation of action plans
  • Supports liaison for external agencies during visits and for reporting
  • Assists in supporting site projects requiring EHS evaluation
  • Provides expertise in a limited number of EHS fields
  • Supports reporting requirements for corporate and legal obligations

Experience

  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Proven ability to learn quickly in a changing environment is essential
  • External EHS qualifications desirable eg Nebosh, British Safety Council or equivalent
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience – desirable
  • The role will suit a graduate with exiting EHS (environment health and safety)   knowledge
