A global Pharmaceutical organisation requires an experienced Director of Engineering Department to direct and improve all Engineering activities at their manufacturing campus in the French speaking region in Canada. This is to enable products to be manufactured in line with Manufacturing and Supply strategies at highest reliability and GMP compliance requirements.
Major Accountabilities
- Develop and implement a vision and strategy for Engineering on the clients Site which ensures that all of the client`s requirements for engineering are delivered in a highly compliant, reliable and cost effective manner, with continuous improvement, innovation, and benchmarking as the norm. Promote and gain buy-in to the vision and strategy from other Site Functional Directors, and Senior Management.
- Put in place an organisation and structure using a balance of in-house and external resource, to enable the vision and strategy for Engineering to be delivered, and to achieve all key CSFs, for example costs, HSE performance, reliability etc
- Responsible for CAPEX and OPEX budgets. To manage large investments projects on-site.
- Ensure that effective and auditable Engineering procedures are in place to enable fully cGMP compliant manufacture of all products on Site, and ensure that all Canadian legal requirements for Engineering are complied with.
- Develop and implement facilities and equipment strategies and asset plans, to ensure that all buildings and equipment on Site are maintained to meet current and future requirements.
- Manage and deliver key projects for the Business, including cross-Site and pan site projects, ensuring requirements for cost, quality, performance, and timescale are achieved.
Requirements
- The jobholder must be a graduate in a recognised Engineering discipline, and should be a Chartered Engineer with membership of a key Engineering Institution
- Must have a Chemical Engineering Degree (or very similar e.g. BioProcess Engineering Degree)
- The jobholder is likely to have had significant experience in Senior Engineering Management at Site level within the pharmaceutical sectors.
- Must have experience of sterile manufacturing
- Must speak French and English
- Extensive FDA / GMP experience
