Our client is the world’s fifth-largest manufacturer and second-largest supplier of influenza vaccines in the US. They are seeking a Manufacturing IT individual to join their manufacturing facility in the North West. You will provide technical support, change management and administration activities to Primary Operations, on IT infrastructure and MES solutions ensuring on-going availability, reliability and compliance. As the Manufacturing IT specialist you will be required to provide specialist knowledge relating to MES and associated business IT solutions, and be the subject matter expert.
Responsibilities of the job
- Deliver MES and associated business IT solution support to Primary Operations complying in full with all relevant procedures.
- Actively promote a safety culture, insuring all HSE responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Actively maintain and promote a cGMP compliant culture, ensure the highest standards are applied within his/her area in accordance with the Orange Guide and CFR regulations.
- Train, develop and mentor key automation team members in critical MES support activities, to enhance the breadth and depth of systems knowledge within Primary Operations.
- Provide key technical support and advice for MES and associated business IT solutions relating to operational issues and continuous improvement, including identification/introduction of new software and processes.
- Proactively maintain knowledge of industry best practice and developments within MES, IT networks and security solutions.
- Aid and assist in the administration and support of the Process Control System solutions.
- Develop strong links with IT local and Global teams to enable standardised support of Automation and MES infrastructure.
- Through benchmarking internally and with external suppliers, recommend, introduce and evaluate new technologies to enhance process control. Develop metrics to ensure business benefits.
Skills and experience
- The role holder should be qualified to degree/HNC level in a relevant discipline and have experience working within engineering, preferably in a pharmaceutical/chemical environment.
- Specific professional/technical expertise and key competencies required for the job:
- The role holder must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills to achieve success in their role. Engineering competence, time management, diplomacy, assertiveness, and the *Have the ability to work under pressure are also essential. A positive and pro-active approach is needed to aid resolution of issues. A detailed technical understanding of IT networks is essential. Appropriate degrees of confidentiality and integrity must be maintained at all times.
- The role holder plans and prioritises his/her own days? work, coordinating key activities with peers, and with due regard to the company’s goals, ensuring that deadlines are met.
- The job holder is responsible for MES and associated business IT solutions availability, reliability and longevity within the Primary Operations area. He/she will often be involved in project activities, leading or working as part of a multi-disciplinary team that could be dealing with any of the following: Technical fault analysis/diagnosis, the introduction of new products, new instrumentation, small project management, validation activities, documentation reviews, deviation investigation, or continuous improvement.
