Thermal Design Engineer with experience of “cabinets” is sought to work
under long term contract for this dynamic and world leading Telecommunications Company.
This role is to work within a very specialised team of design engineers (5) on Base Station
concept design and leading edge advancements in Base Station evolution. Experience
of Pro Engineer or Icepak an advantage.
Title: Senior Thermal Design Engineer x 2
Responsibilities
- Include completion of conceptual design studies and feasibility studies, developing
performance guarantees.
- Provide innovative thermal solutions to telecommunication systems, especially on
wireless base station of GSM or Wcdma.
- Coordinate with other departments, project managers and client personnel to complete
studies, review designs and solve problems.
- Conduct thermal system design and architecture design of telecom products.
Qualifications Required
- Proficiency using Flotherm or Icepak for CFD thermal simulations;
- Experience in Microsoft office tools
- Excellent knowledge of principles of electronics cooling, fluid flow and heat/mass
transfer, and energy conservation;
- Experience in selection of electro-mechanical components such as air movers, heat
sinks and thermal interface materials;
- Familiar with testing methods and tools for temperature and air flow as well as voltage
and current measurement
- Hands on electronics industry experience and skills in the art and science of electronics
thermal management at the board, chassis and rack level, especially on wireless base
station of GSM or Wcdma;
Preferred Candidates will possess the following skills
- Direct experience in telecom industry (both indoor and outdoor equipment)
- Expertise in MCAD/structural software tools like ProE, ANSYS, etc.
- Experience in natural convection cooling, outdoor equipment, HVAC&R and
systems engineering.
- Research experience in advanced thermal management technologies.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
