Resource optimisation

It’s tempting to assume that hiring new people can solve all resourcing issues – but often, it can be more effective to make better use of those you already have.

For many organisations, the answer to their resourcing issues is already sat at desks within the organisation itself – it’s just not efficiently deployed.

Master resource schedule

Many businesses hire on the basis of what they need – but don’t look internally first to see what they already have. So, one side of a business can be cutting back or letting people go – when another side of the business could really benefit from the skills that are about to be lost.

We work with organisations to understand the resources – people - they have now, how they are deployed, the roles they fulfil and the skills they have. We also assess what other roles within the business they could undertake – and then help to plan how they could be redeployed, to the benefit of the business and the individuals.

Forward load analysis

When a resource crisis happens, the time to act in the most efficient way has already passed. Quanta helps organisations to understand their future skills need (often using information gained during a master resource schedule process) to create a robust plan that predicts and accommodates upcoming resource needs.

It’s often the case that there isn’t a need to hire new people to address resource issues – it may be possible to retrain or cross-train people and save on recruitment costs. Before considering hiring as a solution, we always ask: can we address this need within the current resource pool of the organisation?

Market/competitor research

To attract the best candidates, it’s important to offer the most attractive package – and to recruit in the right way. Quanta can help organisations to understand how recruitment activities operate in their industry, how their competitors are attracting (or keeping) people – and how to respond. We undertake this work in confidence, providing detailed feedback on which to build a more successful recruitment/employment strategy.
