Do you want to work with an exciting company who are an established market leader within their unique and niche field? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Safety Lead to help drive the delivery of a large new capital invest project on an initial 12-month contract. As Commissioning Safety Lead, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a new state of the art facility by executing the environmental, health and safety programme at Construction, Commissioning and Operations Readiness stages of the Project.
Construction and Safety Lead Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Regulatory, client, and Capital Project EHS requirements.
- Mentor and Coach Project Leaders, Safety officers and Construction / Commissioning management to implement the Capital Projects Visual Safety Standards program.
- Collaborate with and influence the Construction Management Team and Contractors to drive National and International safety best practices on the project.
- Organize and Lead safety meetings with Capital Projects Leadership team and Project team and construction / commissioning / operations teams.
- Prepare safety metrics and present project safety reports to the Capital Projects Leadership team and Project team.
- Champion the Safety Behavioral Program by leading by example and role modelling good safety behavior and environmental practices to develop and support a high performing safety culture on the Project.
- Develop, review and approve safe systems of work.
- Verify the adequacy and application of the Project Health and Safety Plan and all related procedures through the evolution of the project.
- Conduct weekly formal project safety audits with the Construction management Team (CMT), manage audit findings and ensure all KPI’s are measured and reported out.
- Develop and deliver EHS training, awareness, and communications.
- Participate in incident / near-miss investigations including root cause analysis and ensure preventative measures are fully implemented.
- Coordinate all pre-commissioning activities between multiple parties
- 3rd level degree in a safety or engineering discipline with a minimum 7-10 years’ experience working on Capital Projects in pharmaceutical / manufacturing industries.
- Leadership and people management experience.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong influencing and decision-making capability.
- Strong technical and behavioral safety program aptitude and experience.
- Experience of establishing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health and Safety management systems in construction, commissioning, and operational readiness stages of Capital Projects.
