Description
- Safeguarding and seeking benefit from the project’s contractual position by providing contractual advice to support project/package managers and ensure consistency and compliance with corporate objectives, policies and procedures.
- Acting as the focal point for all day to day contractual requirements to support the execution of contracts for the fabrication of high-grade secondary steel, LV and HV components
- Review of tender documents
- Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Formulating and negotiating claims against project subcontractors.
- Monitoring subcontractors progress, drafting contractual correspondence, review of variation requests, etc.
- Preparing and negotiating variation orders & claims to clients
- Liaising with corporate legal and external advisors as necessary.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive data base of records for resources
- Evaluation and submission of interim applications for payment and the final account after practical project completion.
- Auditing project delivery team against compliance with the contract.
- Rehired by this company on a short term basis to review and analyse main contract and assess commercial risk for the Moray Firth East Offshore Windfarm Project.
- Implementing and controlling activities to safeguard company’s commercial and contractual position.
- Setting up tracking registers for monitoring and expediting early warnings, claims and variations.
- Proactively monitoring progress and developments against schedule. Anticipating possible contractual deviations and/or opportunities.
- Establishing data base tracking registers to monitor and record early warnings and change management to ensure claims’, variations, etc., are issued and processed in accordance with the contractual time limits specified.
- Managing interfaces with client, subcontractor(s) and project team in terms of contractual conditions, schedule deviations, budget and quality to meet contractual requirements and maintain robust commercial practice.
- Drafting of subcontracts and supply agreements to ensure alignment and consistency with the main contract on a back-to-back basis for fabrication and installation of secondary steel items, LV and HV components for the transition pieces, topsides and jackets.
- Attending negotiation meetings with client, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain optimum benefits and achieve best commercial advantage.
- Monitoring and expediting subcontractors and suppliers’ progress, drafting contractual correspondence, review of invoices and variation requests against bills of quantities and issuing recommendations for payment or rejection, etc.
- Establish and maintain data base of records for resources and effects on programme/other activities for cost recovery, extension of time arising out of extra works, etc.
- Providing guidance to project team and liaising with corporate legal and external advisors as necessary.
