Our client is a specialises mainly in device design and industrialisation and based in Cambridgeshire. The site is home to their Global Device Development focuses on the design, and development and commercialisation of a diverse portfolio. The site is located just 20 minutes form Stansted Airport and Central London is easily reachable by train or road in an hour.

We are looking for an Director level candidate, ideally with Device Design and Industrialisation experience, to join this Pharmaceutical company. You will play a key role in leading the department.

Day to day duties will include:

• Managing the Device Design team, contributing to the personal, professional growth and development of all colleagues
• Lead design and engineering development of devices to enable drug-delivery
• Implement Design for Manufacture (DFM) and scale-up devices
• Deliver design solutions within a regulated environment and lead engineering development
• Contribute to strategic and technical elements of the wider R&D product development

You will have the following experience/qualifications:

• Extensive experience in a mechanical engineering environment, with substantial device design leadership experience
• Strong management experience in leading engineers to deliver solutions
• Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline
• Proficient in engineering risk analysis techniques (e.g. FMEA) and their application in device design  
• Knowledge of device design controls and ISO/FDA requirements as applicable to device design.
