Calling Electrical Engineers! We are looking for Degree Qualified Electrical Engineers to work with one of our large Multinational Clients on the Design, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning of Offshore Substations.
This is an office-based role and as the successful candidate you will be offered a two-year contract. Occasional travel for testing and commissioning will be required.
To be considered for the role the successful candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant field or activity, ideally carry 5+ years’ experience in the relevant field of electrical engineering, preferably offshore.
Key Experience:
- Knowledge of current state of the art technical development in offshore substations through phases of design, construction and commissioning.
- Understanding and knowledge of relevant regulations, IEC for example. Knowledge of Offshore codes is also beneficial.
- SCADA Systems experience and understanding.
- A high degree of technical knowledge.
- Experience with MS Software and management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Willingness to travel and ability/certifications to travel offshore when required.
The Role:
- Support the client in preparation and evaluation of technical tenders, please see examples below:
- Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of proposed suppliers, service providers and sub-contractors.
- Provide support for the Package Manager in controlling and monitoring the contractually compliant performance of services regarding scope of delivery, costs, deadlines, quality, safety and risks.
- Participation in management and technical meetings across phases of the project.
Technical Requirements:
- The successful Electrical Engineer acts as project expert for all electrotechnical components of the grid connection system which are required to establish a 220 kV/66 kV grid connection system and takes responsibility for the following:
- All 220/66kv Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Cables and Fittings
- Aux Power Transformers
- Neutral Point Formers
- Aux Power Units
- Low Voltage Cabling
- coordination of all work package-specific tasks and interfaces. Collaboration with other work packages and departments (procurement, operations, logistics, etc.) and key stakeholders (partners, regulators)
- Close support and cooperation with the O&M manager and SCADA experts
- BOSIET
- Offshore Medical
- Working at Height G.W.O’s
The Contract:
Duration: Start – ASAP and continue for 24 months
Rate: Flexible depending on experience.
This is an ideal and exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking for a long term contract with one of the largest renewable energy suppliers in Europe.
