Gas Turbine Commissioning - 6-months+ - Contract 

Brilliant opportunity for an experienced engineer to join an industry specialist with a large portfolio of projects across Europe.

Role Responsibilities
  • Gas turbine Senior Commissioning Supervisor (Mechanic / Mechatronic Engineer)
  • Lead and perform commissioning of Gas Turbines during COLD and HOT commissioning phases, starting from single component to the full system (Gas Turbine and its auxiliaries) according to specifications and engineering documents, including functional tests and logic interlocks verification and reports.
  • Ensure technical correctness of equipment during commissioning in compliance with instructions, taking into account the safety instructions, the environmental protection measures and local regulations.
  • Complete all the necessary activities to reach turning gear operation, acceleration tests, start up with fuel gas or fuel oil, first synchro, load tests, etc.
  • Plan and prepare site commissioning work including necessary tools & consumables and coordinate work tasks with other teams as commissioning engineers, operators, contractors and other team members.
 
Requirements
  • 5- 10 years of experience as a Gas Turbine Engineer on large scale projects within the power sector
  • Experience with Gas Turbines acting on both single components and full system (e.g. lube oil pumps, valves, etc… to lube oil system) up to completion (start up, synchronization, load tests, combustion optimization, performance tests, periodical inspections).
  • Strong orientation in managing mechanic, mechatronic and process of Gas Turbine and auxiliary systems.
  • Mechatronic/Mechanical education, orientation, and attitude.
  • Knowledge of commissioning phases, requisites, process, workflow, and safety measures.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical part relative to auxiliary systems (pumps, valves, etc ...) and Gas Turbine itself (burners, vanes, fuel pipes, blow off, etc…).
  • Good ability to prepare, lead and carry a functional test, verifying the interlocks between Gas Turbine auxiliary systems and Gas Turbine itself.
  • Good capability to coordinate various specialist (instrumentation Eng., control Eng., mechanical, electrical, vendors) to fit commissioning programs.
  • Good understanding of Gas Turbine commissioning programs and ability to manage time schedule.
  • Ability to quickly take decisions and proactive in problems solving.
  • Good knowledge on how to perform Gas Turbine inspections during commissioning phase (combustion chamber, compressor, turbine, piping, etc) in accordance to specific documentation.
  • Report events and write professional technical and site reports
  • Good attitude to be flexible and travel to global locations
  • Multi Language skills would be a bonus
 
Education
  • Bachelor or Graduation's Degree in Engineering
