An exciting contract opportunity, working on various new offshore wind farm development projects in South Korea. Working for a major utility, you would be responsible for various aspects across the new markets team managing the maintenance, updating of Geographic Information System databases and systems along with general process support.

This role will involve work across both GIS System work, project work along with the process support such as budgeting and time management, procurement activities, e.g. compiling specifications to contract external experts and studies, and economical assessments across the projects.

Responsibilities
  • Liaising with the In-House GIS team to support the continuous improvement of our GIS, especially software implementation, GIS data research and the vetting from government agencies involved
  • Expansion and maintenance of all databases (layers properties, layouts, reference scales, etc.)
  • Implementation of development tools for collecting, transferring, and processing GIS data.
  • Oversee and play a role in the collation of all project mapping requirements from securing the site and validation through to construction stage.
  • Manage the collection, storage, manipulation, and analysis of all project related geographical information
  • Integrate geographic, survey, title, infrastructure, and other data into representations to report on.
  • Interaction with the wind analysts, grid experts and others in order to gain maximum optimization from the wind farm.
 

Requirements:
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geography or relevant
  • A proven experience with GIS, such as experience in mapping for Land Development or similar field, with a strong emphasis on interpreting and mapping legal descriptions and surveys
  • Strong background in utilising ESRI products, including ArcMap 10 as well as knowledge of other mapping products including AutoCAD, DeLorme XMap, Global Mapper, Google Earth, etc.
Please note that this role is remote based working with travel to and from offices across the UK when required.
