HSE Safety Specialist  (Sicherheitsfachkraft)  contract opportunity to support a world leading Pharmaceutical organisation in the Frankfurt area in Germany

Our world leading Pharmaceutical client, based in the Frankfurt area, is currently looking for a German speaking HSE Safety Specialist, to support during the build of a new facility, joining the project during the transitioning phase from construction leading into commissioning.

Role/ Duties 
  • Improvement of LOTO procedure
  • Responsible for LOTO register
  • Responsible for the overall LOTO management according to guidelines
  • Responsible for „Safety Schedule“ (=Tool to manage and track all Safety activities)
  • Responsible to deliver a work permit process in compliance with standards
  • Review and refocus the execution of the construction safety plan
  • Further develops and proposes new concepts to manage construction under the influence of the COVID19 pandemic
  • Review of Method Statements / Risk assessments
  • Facilitation of Last Minute Risk Assessments
  • FOR SAFETY MANAGER: leads and structures the safety and logistics team (1 - 2 supervisors)
  • Close collaboration with Customer, construction and commissioning leads
  • Prepares and moderates the weekly safety leadership team meeting
  • Conducts construction side walks, participates to the weekly SiGeKo walk
  • Ambassador of a 0 accident culture
  • Leads and documents safety incident/ accident investigations
  • Motivates discipline engineers (of Engineering Office and customer) as well as contractors to hand in safety observations to participate to the safety observation lottery
  • Leads and organizes the construction safety incentive program  
  • Mentoring / Coaching of all involved people on the construction / commissioning site
 
Qualification:
  • NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety, SMSTS Managers Safety, or comparable safety education
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in highly safety regulated construction projects in a relevant safety position
 Skills
  • Languages: German, English, fluent in both languages is mandatory
  • IT: Excel , Power Point
  • Strong communicator / Leadership skills / Ability to positively influence and communicate in the sense of a zero accident culture
