Do you relish the opportunity to work with a global biotech organisation based in Berkshire?  If yes, then this is the assignment for you!

Our client that specialises in the treatment and prevention of serious human medical conditions is currently seeking the expertise of an IT Security Engineer on an initial 4-month contract.

The role is a broad role that will suit an individual whose skill and experience span across many security disciplines including Information Security, IT Security Operations, IT Infrastructure, and IT Applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide technical information security consultancy advice to global IT teams.
  • Provide independent Information Security assurance to the clients Global IT services and acts as an Information Security checkpoint for project management framework to ensure security requirements are included during project stages.
  • You will be required to evaluate and assess security design, solutions, tools, architecture models and components (at a technical level) against company policies and standards that’s required to achieve the Information Security strategy.
  • Co-ordinate across cross-functional business units, and external suppliers in response to security incidents.
  • Support external and internal audit within the remit of core responsibilities.
  • Support the management of the Information Security Risk Register and coordination with Business and IT functions
  • There will be close cooperation with global IT teams, system owners and business process owners to drive the definition, implementation and operational maturity of Information Security standards
  • Perform risk assessments: Analyse current risks and identify potential risks that are affecting the company.
  • Perform risk evaluations: Evaluate the company’s previous handling of risks and compare potential risks with the criteria set out by the company, such as costs and legal requirements.
  • Perform 3rd party security assessment.
Desirable Experience:
  • Extensive knowledge of data security, compliance & governance within the Cloud (Azure specifically).
  • Very good understanding of security architecture, network design, Operational or Infrastructure Security space.
  • Supporting operational security teams for incident management, information security investigations and communicating to senior stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of information security assurance processes
  • Extensive knowledge of technical security controls protecting global IT environments
  • Extensive knowledge of principle business risks and risk management
