We have an exciting long term contract opportunity working on a new-build energy from waste project. Its scope of responsibilities will include the Balance of Plant, Utilities and Boiler systems of the Plant.
The role will be working as a Lead Process Commissioning Engineer whom will directly report to the commissioning manager on site.
Responsibilities
- Knows the contractual and technical specifications of the project and the scope of work of suppliers
- Organize and follow handovers, coordinate the commissioning activities for the process systems
- Adhere to Health & Safety standards in line with both industry and client requirements.
- Prepare documentation prior starting commissioning activities (commissioning procedures, suppliers’ documentation, engineering documentation)
- Ensure all personnel and material means are available on site on time to perform commissioning activities
- Ensure all tests and activities are properly validated and recorded (e.g. test sheets, tests reports)
- Ensure all modifications done or discrepancies identified during commissioning have been updated on the related documentation (red-line mark-up) and communicated to project’s team
- Identify defects or discrepancies that requires major modification and prepare Non Conformity Reports when required
- Generate and present reports on a daily/weekly basis to the commissioning manager of the process systems’ progress
- Liaise with other departments (e.g. engineering), to provide solutions to solve the issued encountered on its systems
- Review and update as necessary commissioning procedures and Risk Assessment
- Prepare the necessary Permit to Work
- Oversea and report back on any health & safety issues
- Participate to Handover inspections (from construction to commissioning)
- Raise, monitor, and follow closure of snags
- Supervise and execute cold and hot commissioning activities performed by subcontractors, and ensure proper completion and transmission of related test sheets and reports
- Installation tuning and optimization
- Ensure personnel and materials are available to perform commissioning activities
- Participate to project’s planning review when required
- Update documentation as per commissioned installation (red-line mark-up)
- Reports on a regular basis to the commissioning manager the process systems’ progress.
- Provide support to the Commissioning Manager where required.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in commissioning and start-up of Waste to Energy installations, combustion trains, or biomass.
- Background in Steam Boiler Processes required.
