Oracle DBA

Oracle DBA - IT - Contract - South America

Oracle DBA required for an initial 6 month contract with an international organisation, working fully remotely from any South America location in line with EDT time zone hours. This is an English speaking role. Start date will be July 2023 following a successful single stage Teams interview process. As an experienced Oracle database administrator, you';ll be familiar with database support and maintenance, configuration, RAC, RMAN, dataguard and associated DBA tools and activities.


Your DBA responsibilities will include:

• Provide guidance for Oracle Database Hosting services
• Be a go-to expert for troubleshooting Oracle database related issues.
• Provide support for all Oracle Database Hosting SDAs.
• Design, install, configure and support Oracle Grid infrastructure including Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM and databases.
• Administer and support Oracle Exadata systems including storage provisioning, VM provisioning, patching and upgrading.
• Implement backups using RMAN, standby databases using DataGuard, monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of database automation tasks using Ansible and related technologies.
• Perform database clones and backups using RMAN as well as NAS storage snapshot/clone/replication technology.
• Provide on-call support using VPN connectivity outside normal working hours as required on a rotational basis.

You will have:

• Oracle Exadata administration experience, including upgrades and patching.
• Knowledge and support experience of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Dataguard, Oracle RMAN.
• Experience with latest version of Oracle Enterprise Manager including installation, configuration, patching and upgrading.
• Experience in automating database administration activities.
• Oracle OVM administration and support.
• Good English language skills.
• Ability to work as a freelancer in your location.
