An exciting long-term contract opportunity working with a leading global wind farm developer for their project based in the UK. We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide support and work across the cables and surveying packages.
Responsibilities
- Review the project documentation to ensure the installation methodology is aligned to the client’s requirements.
- Liaising with the installation team in regard to reporting and deliverables
- Attending kick-off meetings, HIRAs, mobilisations etc prior to offshore operations of burial and as-built surveying activities.
- Overseeing all vessel mobilisations and calibrations, and then be involved in the QA/QC of results of mobilization from a surveying perspective.
- Reporting to the cable package any deviances from procedures. During operations this may require a fast turnaround.
- Ensuring any calibrations and checks that are outstanding, or will take place in-field, are highlighted to the project team.
- An overarching analysis of the survey operations offshore to ensure adherence to the procedures set by the client.
- Review of all preliminary data delivered by Installation Contractor, and acceptance or rejection of the same
- Identification of defects or unexpected subsea conditions in delivered data
- Delivery of accepted data to GIS and subsea cables teams for their use
- Management of the survey asset to conduct verification surveys to validate installation contractors work
- GWO Basic Safety Training and HUET certificates.
- A good knowledge of survey and positioning in an offshore environment; MBES, visual and buried cable detection.
- Proven experience during the Construction Phase of offshore wind projects, including cable lay and burial activities.
- Knowledge of Global Mapper and AutoCAD is advantageous.
