Shift Operator - Energy From Waste - Port Talbot, Wales

Do you have extensive knowledge and experience of biomass or thermal power plants? Do you have the necessary skills to be a leader through mobilisation into safe operation of a power plant?

Quanta’s client is currently one of the leading turnkey EPC specialists delivering large energy recovery projects. This includes the design, build and operation of plants for household, non-hazardous, commercial and industrial waste.

Responsibilities:

Operate the plant from the control room in all operating conditions under supervision of the Shift Team Leader, ensuring optimum performance is achieved as required without compromising Health & Safety or Environmental standards.
Ensure regular compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance issues or incidents to the Shift Team Leader.
Record any defect on the CMMS system and monitor the progress
Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments/ operations as required, collecting, and recording plant data.
Carry out 1st line Maintenance tasks as required to ensure safe running of the plant
Operate mobile plant including forklift trucks as required to assist in the continuous running of the plant.
Monitor stocks and take receipt of consumables and collection of residues

Requirements:

2+ years Thermal Power Plant Operational experience
ONC level Engineering qualification preferred
