Solar Yield Assessment & Due Diligence Engineer - Permanent - France

Do you have 3-5 years Solar Yield Assessment & Due Diligence experience? Are you from a Consultancy/Advisory services background and looking to maintain your remote working status even after Covid-19 restrictions?

Quanta are exclusively supporting our client, a leader within the onshore wind and solar consultancy sector for a Solar Energy Yield Assessment Engineer to join their Advisory Services team in France.

Due to an exciting growth in workload our client seek candidates from a Solar/PV background to complement their team and deliver to their exciting pipeline of work.

This opportunity can be based anywhere in France and is predominantly remote working based. Candidates will need to be prepared to spend roughly three days every three weeks in Paris after Covid-19 protocols are removed. Therefore if you are Paris based this would be a bonus. Candidates local to Paris can choose to work in the Paris office.

You will utilise your Energy Yield assessment skills to deliver services for Solar/PV projects. Advising project investors, lenders and other clients across a variety of both established and emerging geographic markets and on a day to day basis will be responsible for:
 
  • Conduct due diligence analysis with regards to solar/wind resource, energy yield, project capacities, wind farm/ PV plant layout and suitability of sites for proposed PV/wind farm sites, notably in new markets.
  • PV plant design and equipment review. Wind farm turbine layout design review is a plus.
  • Liaising with solar and wind turbine equipment suppliers regarding technology options.
  • Analysis and reporting of site measurements as well as production data.
  • Production of internal solar / wind resource and Energy Production Estimates with the highest possible accuracy. These are delivered in accordance with required project timelines. Applicable for pre- and post-construction yield analysis.
  • Reviewing third party reports and providing analysis on these.
  • Reviewing of data, energy production reports and site conditions reports for potential acquisition sites.
  • Performance review of PV plants in operation. Performance review of wind farms in operations is an advantage.
  • Review of contracts linked to the sites (EPC, O&M, Grid connection agreements, PPA…) is a plus.
  • Experience in energy storage system analysis is a plus.
  • Participate in DD process and sometimes lead the relationship with the clients.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Solar analysis and project design experience essential; wind farm experience is an advantage.
  • Operational PV plant analysis experience is an advantage.
  • Experience working for a lenders’ advisor, OEM supplier, developer, or operator of wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, a strong mathematical and analysis background, and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical colleagues are essential.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail and ability to exercise engineering judgement.
  • Programming/software development experience is an advantage.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Experience in the use of leading solar industry software (PVsyst, …). WAsP, WindPRO or other related wind resource assessment software is an advantage.
  • Experience with CFD wind flow models is an advantage.
  • Financial modelling review experience (review of technical hypothesis) would be highly valued.
  • Fluency in English and French. Spanish or German will be a plus.
  • Graduate with an honours engineering or physical science degree as a minimum.
