Technical Project Manager - Large Offshore Wind Project - Contract Opportunity with likely extension
  
What will you be doing?

The awarded Consultant / Contractor shall be sufficiently skilled and competent to deliver the  services defined below.
  • Support the Fabrication Project Manager and Foundations Package Manager in evaluating fabrication Contractors as part of the Foundations Supply ITT process
  • Analysis of tender documentation received from bidding Contractors; including the assessment of cost calculations, BoQs, risk, programme, technical solutions, technical and commercial deviations and any other tender related activity
  • Collaborate in preparation of FOU tender specifications with all required/involved parties in the project
  • Technical coordination and management of tender documentation, ensuring project internal requirements are implemented and aligned with the overall Foundation Supply Strategy
  • Provide technical and commercial input to the different phases of the FOU supply tender phase, while ensuring interface alignment with other project packages is maintained
  • Liaise with Contractors, project packages and other supporting departments
  • Provide expert advice on programme strategies, engineering, risk levels and commercial agreements to ensure that the technical solutions proposed by the contractors are feasible, viable and aligned with the overall project requirements
  • Ensure that health and safety and environmental requirements are fully considered and adhered to in the evaluation of the FOU ITT tender, to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice.
  • Ensure that appropriate lessons learnt regarding evaluation of tenders relative to FOU supply are captured and shared across the different units of the foundations package.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure that the engineering team implements/reacts to the design requests derived from the FOU supply ITT.
  • Ad hoc support to the design activities associated with the FOU package or interfacing packages; envisaged to entail the review of specifications, review of Primary Steel and Secondary Steel AfC drawings, method statements and procedures.
  • Coordination and reply of technical queries from fabrication and installation packages, and/or its Contractors, during the development phase of their respective tender processes
  • Embedded within the Foundations Package of wind farm project the Consultant/ Contractor shall report to the Foundations Fabrication Manager and ultimately, to the Foundations Package Manager
Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and have at least five (8) years of relevant experience as a professional engineer in offshore wind, preferably with offshore foundation structures
  • The Consultant / Contractor shall have experience in several of the following areas:
-       Deep understanding of foundation fabrication tenders, including evaluation of risks, assessment of commercial & technical aspects and project planning compliance

-       Good knowledge of contracts and procurement processes.

-       Sound knowledge of foundation design and fabrication processes of steel structures

-       Ability to coordinate and implement functional requirements coming from foundation design, transport & installation, inter array cable contractor and WTG package into the FOU supply tender.

-       Proven communication and interpersonal skills

-       Experience in managing highly skilled teams involved in the multidisciplinary project work packages.

-       Candidate can demonstrate the ability to work effectively remotely

-       Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

-       Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation associated with offshore/marine construction projects
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential and language skills in Spanish are desirable.
  • Flexible to occasionally travel around the UK and overseas (currently not expected due to Covid outbreak)
