Our client, a developer of multi-customer and hyperscale data centres in Europe and Asia-Pacific, have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Director to join their IT and Tech team. They have a strong portfolio of constructing world-class critical infrastructure and are chosen time and again for their resilient power and colling, robust securing and sophisticated monitoring systems.
If you are an ambitious individual with at least 5 years’ experience in a Tech / IT Management role and have strong interpersonal skills, this is the role for you! The right person will be driven to progress quickly and will be confident on their impact on the company through technology services and thus driving productivity across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Review and implement Technology strategies that are robust, fit for purpose and cost effective.
- Build realistic IT budget projections reinvesting savings and efficiencies into future growth initiatives to help drive business productivity and growth.
- Be the “face” of Technology for the company.
- Manage the project portfolio and ensure the delivery of key initiatives on time and in full.
- Conduct continuous improvement actions on service quality towards all stakeholders.
- Identify room for tactical tools improving the efficiency of internal teams and accelerating the digital transformation of the company.
- Lead the Technology team and be an inspirational leader in your field.
- Be the promoter of innovation and disruption.
- Manage the team, organising and ensuring the adequate level of communication, assess the performance of direct reports, identify and stabilize key/strategic members of the team and develop team spirt and engagement.
- Manage the modernisation of legacy platforms and infrastructure.
- Improve the organisation and engagement of the IT team with the business bringing the Technology function to an enabler for growth driving productivity.
- Build a strong relationship with our Data Centre sites and teams across Europe and APAC reviewing their current Technology experience and building plans to deliver on that improve it.
- Review and improve the current operating framework.
- Deliver an ambitious and realistic projects roadmap, including active and efficient contribution to wider Group projects and initiatives.
- Co-lead digital transformation across the company being a promoter for change.
- Upskill the wider business in understanding and becoming proficient in the portfolio of collaboration, technology and productivity solutions, we have available and seeking their feedback on new enhancements and future toolsets.
- Work on new and innovative projects that further enable our business and our customers to help drive Sales engagement and revenue.
- The ability to explain complexity to those without the knowledge.
- A passion for helping others learn new skills and capability.
- Experience deploying solutions on one or more of the leading cloud platforms
- At least 5 years management experience running an IT function.
- Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems and developments.
- Driven and keen to progress quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, collaborative and project management skills.
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
- Track record of negotiating and managing suppliers.
- A track record of running IT teams demonstrating clear improvement to the business through strong and consistent delivery.
