Automation Engineer (MES) – Co. Tipperary – 11 Months – Contract

Our Partner in the Tipperary area develops and supplies the active ingredients and final formulated product for a range of innovative medicines at its manufacturing and R&D facilities.

The plant, which has been operating in Tipperary for over 40 years, exports to over 25 countries around the world with primary markets being Europe, USA and Japan.

We are recruiting an Automation Engineer to focus on MES systems, and to work here on an initial 11 month contract basis. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this Automation Engineer role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Working with the Project team to deliver the Automation & IT scope on several projects.
  • Take responsibility for the MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Work with the MES vendor to develop systems architecture, specifications, and control strategies.
  • Develop and/or review System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables.
Requirements needed for this Automation Engineer contract:
  • At least 4 years experience in a similar role in the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in the commissioning of MES, experience with PAS-X would be beneficial.
  • Experience with controls systems and familiarity with control panels, networking, panel/field wiring and PLC control systems.
