Black Utilities Engineer- Life Science- Contract- Milan

Our client, a global pharmaceutical organisation is responsible for developing and manufacturing medicines and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines.

With continued organisational growth and a considerable amount of investment across the portfolio and capital programme they are seeking the expertise of Black Utilities Engineer.

Black Utilities Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Primary Utilities, Parts Washer, Autoclave, CIP Skid and COP/SOP Station interface with A/E Services provider during the Engineering phase of the project.
  • Deliver a high-end facility with respect to the Utilities, Parts Washers, Autoclaves and CIP/COP/SOP scope, in line with industry best practices, within budget and schedule, without compromising safety.
  • Encourage and develop conduct with respect to safety, wherein demonstration is key.
  • Initiate and maintain an open relationship with the A/E team and the wider team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure A/E Service provider delivers Utilities scope in line with internal expectations, including the application of standards and guidelines.
  • Manage and approve Utilities deliverables.
  • Manage and approve Parts Washer and Autoclave equipment, design and deliverables
  • Manage and approve CIP skid and CIP/SOP station equipment, design and deliverables
  • Draw from experience in relation to design and engineering solutions required to provide a world class design and construction installation.
  • Ensure that information fed into the design from vendors is correctly utilised.
  • Ensure that the facility is designed with both Operations and Maintenance functions in mind.
  • Verify that Utilities design input to the 3D model is provided in sufficient detail to allow the contractor to build the facility with minimum change required.
About you:
  • Min qualification – BS in Engineering Discipline (or equivalent).
  • Experience of A/E Design Firm project execution
  • Minimum (8 years) pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical engineering project experience for Lead positions.
  • Previous experience in design of project >$100 MM required.
  • Knowledge of and direct operational experience within manufacturing facilities including large molecule, small molecule and sterile injectables.
  • Knowledge and experience of project execution for fully automated facility design
  • Experience of facility design in a 3D Model / BIM environment utilizing integrated project delivery
