Capital Projects Prime Contracts Manager - Life Sciences - Remote - 12-Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in the US, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.


Key Responsibilities: 
  • Assists in the delivery of capital projects in accordance with project business processes
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages.
  • Implement a contracts management program and maintain, including a contract responsibility matrix, a contracts requirements action list, and a contract notice log
  • Ensure contractual notices and entitlements are properly administered
  • Ensure compliance with prime contract terms and conditions
  • Identify areas of risk due to ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts in the contents of documents relative to the contracts, including legal terms and conditions and technical drawings and specifications
  • Develop a program to mitigate and resolve claims from the contractors including reviewing with legal
  • Participate in project meetings with engineering, procurement, project controls and construction to ensure awareness of actions impacting the prime contract
  • Report status of current contracts processes to management, while in development
  • Analyse potential risks that contract changes may pose to the project related to cost, schedule, and other potential impacts
  • Ensure that all governance processes are compliant at all times
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of ongoing project training to address prime contract management principles to the team. This will be ongoing through the lifecycle of the project
 
Requirements:     
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or law.
  • Excellent communication/facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Project Management skills
  • Understanding of Capital projects
  • Analytical and organisational skills.
  • Project planning and implementation skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial skills.
  • Experience with implementing prime contract requirements on large-scale EPC projects
  • Experience in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders
  • Effective correspondence
