Construction Manager - German Speaking - 12 months+ contract

Contract / Freelance opportunity for a German speaking Construction Manager to support a global Pharmaceutical organisation on a New Build project in South Germany.

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is looking for a German speaking Construction Manager to support them during the build of a new manufacturing facility in South Germany.

Main tasks:

• Management, Supervision and Coordination of construction activities for the new build project, representing the client (HOAI phase 8)
• First point of contact on the construction site for the EPCM construction team
• Planning, control and monitoring of deadlines
• Representing the client - Interface function between users, external companies, general planners (EPCM firm) and authorities in connection with the construction work
• Cost and Claim Management
• Arrange and/ or carry out site inspections and approvals
• Quality control and assurance
• Ensuring compliance with construction site regulations and risk management
• Participation in procurement activities

 
Requirements:

• Extensive experience in managing and coordinating complex construction projects in the pharmaceutical, medical or food industries – (phase 8 of construction projects)
• Experience in working with general planners (EPCM firms) is an advantage
• Knowledge of German construction regulations (HOAI phase 8 )   
• GMP knowledge and experience in structural fire protection desirable
• Basic knowledge of technical building equipment
• Good understanding of contracts and knowledge of tendering and procurement
• fluent German language skills
