Process Scientist - Ireland - Contract

Ireland is a hive of activity for the Life Sciences Industry at present with no shortage of major expansion/ new-build facilities. We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Scientist with upstream or downstream cell culture experience to join a start-up project for a global pharmaceutical organisation, located in Dublin, with great longevity of employment possibility.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Process Scientist with upstream or downstream cell culture experience to join this new project, located in Dublin, for a period of 11 months initially.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Technical fields of experience preferably to include specific knowledge and practical experience of cell culture processing and separation sciences including chromatography (principles/methods/materials) membrane & filtration sciences, gained at a minimum at MSc, MEng, level or through work experience.
  • Experience in drug substance process development, process characterisation studies, process performance qualification and validation
  • Experience in designing and executing components of experimental programs in the laboratory.
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods for DOE design and data analysis (e.g., JMP or Design-Expert software)
  • Familiar with problem-solving and risk analysis.
  • Technical operations experience in the drug substance manufacture of biological molecules at the pilot- and/or commercial scale. 
  • Experience with upstream cell culture and/or downstream purification of biological molecules.   Experience with technology transfer, regulatory filing, and commercial drug substance manufacturing of biologics is a plus.
