Quanta is immensely proud of the many Charities we support, our team of volunteers put the same amount of effort into fundraising as they do in creating the unique company that is Quanta. In 2022 we raised over £45,000 for our chosen charities and some other special causes throughout the year.

Our Charity Committee, led by Quanta’s CEO David Broome, is assembled every year by team members who volunteer their time and hard work to organise these fabulous events. They work tirelessly and often in their own time to arrange fundraising events supporting The Pepper Foundation hospice care at home,  DENS supporting homelessness, poverty & social exclusion, Thomley providing space and respite for people of all abilities and disabilities, and the Swan Youth Project providing support for young people with an after school activities and mentoring.

We are fortunate to have such a charitable and kind team of people at Quanta that commit to making our great fundraising events happen. They organise the food, drinks, a plethora of games, karaoke and so much more. A lot of work goes into to each event and the wider team are grateful for committee’s unrelenting dedication. And whilst our team always have an excellent time, ultimately, it’s the charities who really benefit from these events and we hope we can continue to support them for many years to come with the help of our amazing charity committee

Our 2022 Events Included

St PadTrigg’s Day

Our string of charity events in 2022 kicked off with our annual nod to St Patrick’s Day - St PadTrigg’s Day -  a play on our founder’s name, Stephen Trigg.  We raised money for the Red Cross’ Ukraine appeal by selling St PadTrigg’s Day merchandise, a face paint auction whereby staff could bid money on a director whose face they would like to paint – this was extremely popular and very brave of our directors! We ran a potato & spoon relay race which was hilariously competitive between each team and sold drinks tokens for our own inhouse bar. We were also delighted to receive generous sponsorship from Fenero Contracting Solutions.

Ball Busters

With a Quanta spin on Wimbledon we held our own tennis tournament complete with strawberries & cream in the grounds of our offices here in Berkhamsted raising money for Swan Youth Project.

Quantoberfest

In true Quanta fashion we have taken another widely celebrated tradition and made it our own. This time Oktoberfest got a Quanta overhaul. We had fun with lots of games including a stein relay race in fancy dress, a karaoke competition with the fun continuing into the evening enjoying bratwursts and our German themed bar serving steins; all whilst raising money for The Pepper Foundation.

Halloween

A much loved and incredibly competitive tradition at Quanta, but it’s not all about our fancy dress winners’ trophy. Each year our team fill a shopping trolley full of much-needed items for local charity DENS who provide support and long-term solutions for homeless people and those in poverty. We always have a cake bake off and the best pumpkin carving; and we are lucky enough for DENS to come in and judge our legendary fancy dress competition.

Taking Part

Our events are always a lot of fun and raise a lot for charity but that’s not the only way we raise money for worthy causes. This year we have also taken part in:

Hillbusters  - Our Quanta cycling team, led by Wendy Pearson took part in another challenging ride around the local area and as the name suggests, it was very hilly! All money raised went to DENS.

Hillier Hopkins football tournament – Along with some other local businesses we put together a couple of teams (in Quanta kits) to compete in a football tournament for The Pepper Foundation.

Movember – The amazing gents of Quanta completed and smashed their Movember target of £2,500, raising £3,600 for the Movember charity.

Mudpack Challenge – A brave gang entered the Mudpack challenge, they scrambled over and under obstacles and through freezing water in the grounds of Ashridge House for the Hospice of St. Francis.

Pyjamas for PanCan – The whole company wore purple pyjamas, baked treats to sell in the office donating to Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Raising money whilst we work

One particular clever idea is raising money through business whereby we donate money by simply doing our job. Each time our team:

- processes a CV
- arranges an interview
- places a candidate
- issues an invoice

Points are accumulated which equates to money. These amounts are then added to the charity pot and divided equally between our four charities; a fabulous way for our team to get involved and contribute.  We were delighted to hear that Thomley were able to purchase a Jumping Pillow for the children to safely enjoy in their grounds near Oxford.

Sponsorships

Quanta also sponsor two football teams, Wendover FC, from 2014 to 2022 and new for 2023 Luton Ladies FC reserves who our very own Emily plays Centre Mid-Field for. We are very proud to see the Quanta logo on their kit.

We thank our Charity Committee for their dedication to our causes and the whole Quanta team for their charitable efforts. Here’s to another successful fundraising new year in 2023 !
