Civil Engineer – Energy from Waste - Contract

Positioned strategically, the company plays a vital role in the ongoing energy transition, serving as a leading integrated green utility with a global footprint.

Responsibilities include:

Project support: Assist senior engineers and project managers in all phases of the construction project, including feasibility studies, site investigations, and design development.
Documentation and drawings: Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Update project documentation as necessary.
Quantity take-offs: Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment required for construction.
Quality control: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Site coordination: Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate construction progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure smooth workflow.
Field inspections: Conduct site inspections to verify construction progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Data analysis: Collect and analyse data related to construction materials, site conditions, and project performance. Provide recommendations based on analysis findings.
Health and safety: Promote and enforce safety practices on the construction site to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Risk assessment: Identify potential risks and hazards related to civil engineering aspects of the project and develop mitigation measures to ensure the safety and integrity of the structures.

Skills required:

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
Proficiency in engineering principles, structural analysis, construction materials, and relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
Analytical mindset and the ability to identify and resolve engineering challenges that may arise during construction.
Efficiently manage tasks, prioritise assignments, and meet project deadlines.
Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance during construction.
