Head of Construction

Head of Construction – Pharmaceuticals – Contract – Denmark

We have a fantastic new requirement for a Head of Construction to join our client, a global biopharmaceutical company. The role of Head of Construction will be to provide oversight for the full delivery of the different work packages on a large capital investment programme at one of their campuses based in the Europe.

As the Head of Construction, you will be responsible for managing the construction activities within the delivery of specifically the drug substance expansion. As part of the project, the production lines for bulk drug substance will be expanded with the addition of a further eight mammalian cell bioreactors and downstream suites, with an estimated $1.6 billion in capital investment.

Head of Construction Responsibilities:

• Assume overall budget responsibilities for the work package in cooperation with WPO Building and Process.
• Ensure on-time project deliverables in cooperation with WPO Building and Process.
• Prepare & present project status & targets in collaboration with Project Service.
• Ensure deliverables meet all quality & compliance standards in cooperation with H&S/EC and CQV.
• Coordinate with external partners and 3rd parties, on deliverables & schedule.
• Ensure proposed changes within work package are challenged & justified in order to meet requirements for the DSM facility.
• Ensure all work package activities are coordinated with relevant functions in the DSM Expansion project and existing operation – CMR.
• Ensure direction of the work package team is set for construction management.
• Lead by example and ensure that a safety culture is built onsite from Day 1, ensuring a proper system is in place via PCM contractor to measure all safety related issues and review issues on a daily and weekly basis.

About you:

• +10 years of experience within Construction and project management in the pharma industry
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in speaking and writing English
