HVAC Engineer- Life Sciences- Contract – Denmark

Our client, a global CDMO in pharmaceutical manufacturing, is recruiting for a HVAC Engineer to join them on their new expansion project. Based in a charming Nordic location, this on a contractual basis, and will involve significantly growing the sites capacity for the manufacture of Biologics.

As HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of HVAC Engineer activities on a complex drug manufacturing extension project.

HVAC Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Lead startup and commissioning of HVAC systems. Working closely together with the Construction Management organisation to lead these systems through Mechanical Completion.
  • Responsible for safe startup of systems. Perform safety risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, interact and collaborate with team members and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Planning of daily activities and coordination of multiple startup activities. Approve and coordinate work to be performed each day for multiple systems in an area.
  • Completing installation documentation.
  • Energization of utilities and equipment per written startup plans.
  • Support Commissioning of utilities and equipment per written commissioning plans.
  • Walk down of mechanical and process systems for acceptance by commissioning team.
  • Troubleshoot equipment/system performance issues.
  • Facilitate engineering and user requirements for the HVAC utility systems.
  • Facilitate project job specification processes with A/E, the CM firm, contracting entities and end user.
About you:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Science Degree in Engineering or Technology related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role in Utilities systems Start up & Construction within Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Technical knowledge of black utilities and clean utilities systems and equipment, biotechnology processes and a working knowledge of FDA and EU regulations is preferred.
  • Specifically previous experience of HVAC installation, start-up, and qualification.
  • An ability to read and understand technical documentation related to the facility construction and start-up activities.
  • This individual must have had experience of a similar project with a multi-million capital spend.
