Instrumentation Technician – Limerick – 12-Month Contract

Our client is a leading provider of groundbreaking Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Solutions throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe, and other locations across the globe.

Their aim is to become a Global Leader in the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Services and to maintain industry leading health and safety standards while ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in performing Loop Checks and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all test equipment and materials required for commissioning are available and are certified and within re-calibration dates.
  • Witness SAT and critical E&I and mechanical completion activities
  • Assist commissioning engineers with commissioning activities and resolution of problems.
  • Liaise with vendor representatives.
  • Prepare JSA in co-ordination with commissioning engineer.
  • Compile completed commissioning procedures.
  • Raise commissioning Instrument associated punch lists.
  • Perform work under permit for daily work activities.
  • Partakes in Construction Completion Tri Party Walk downs.
  • Compiles punch list and confirms clearance of punch list items with the agreement of all concerned parties.
  • Assist in preparation of Vendors reports / documentation.
  • Compiles red line “As Built” markup drawings and Commissioning Test Procedures for changes implemented during the commissioning activities.

Requirements
  • Third level degree in a relevant I&C Engineering discipline
  • Ability to read and understand Process and Building Services P&IDs and to develop packs for the associated.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of DCS/PCS, BMS and PLC systems.
  • Ability to deliver Automation and Systems Scopes of Works and contribute to or develop Functional Specifications (FS) and User Requirements Specifications (URS) for these.
  • Can work with Automation Contractors in developing solutions / systems.
  • Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional team.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
