Mechanical Engineering Lead – Biopharmaceuticals – Permanent – Sydney

Are you looking for your next Mechanical Lead contract? We have an incredibly exciting new requirement that might just be for you.

Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based in Sydney, are looking for a Mechanical Lead for their current project. They are on a mission to ensure lifesaving therapeutic plasma drugs are accessible to all – and as their newest Mechanical Lead, you can help them get there.

Mechanical Engineering Lead Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all Mechanical project technical responsibilities, quality of group deliverables and overall success of the Mechanical Department.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with assigned leads, project managers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage field services including construction verification, FATs, commissioning, testing.
  • Lead mechanical personnel resource management, updates of resource management tools, facilitation of weekly meetings.
  • Project design including developing project plans.
  • Specify of major equipment, development of equipment bid packages, equipment technical and commercial review, equipment bid recommendations, equipment drawing review.
  • Provide input to maximise the manufacturing process.
  • Have a strong knowledge of 3D design.
  • Check and coordinate all ongoing and completed work performed by CAD Designers.
  • Develop training programs for the Mechanical team.
About you:
  • Relevant engineering degree
  • Experience leading multiple projects – worked for design firms, contracting roles, understands systems, understands the interface with other trades
  • Knowledge of BIM, HVAC and AutoCAD
  • Previous experience managing consultant firms and working with the detailed design construction team.
