Mechanical Project Engineer - Demolition

Our client, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical organisations is responsible for developing and manufacturing medicines, consumer products and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines. They have been responsible for the development of a number of key and revolutionary products and have a presence in the USA, EU and Asia-Pacific.

In line with a new program of works on one of their UK manufacturing sites, They are seeking the expertise of a Mechanical Project Engineer with specific experience in demolition.

The responsibilities of the successful Mechanical Project Engineer - Demolition will include:

• Initial role focus will be to manage the delivery of the demolition project. Mechanical systems – piping/utilities etc.
• Project Engineering - To support the specific project relating to demolition of the physical building and supporting mechanical systems including the implementation of the project plan, decommissioning and demolition activities and the closure of project.
• Management of external consultancies.
• Quality/Compliance - To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all relevant internal policies and external regulations / national legal requirements, including completion of all GMP commitments to plan - specifically relating to the accuracy of project documentation.
• To operate in a matrix organisation, driving the local team to ensure that the project is delivered.
• Continuous Improvement - To explore and identify new and improved processes targeted at improvement in quality and operational performance.
• To work in a safe manner with due regard for the health and safety of self, other work colleagues and the work environment.  The Project engineer will also have an on-going role in support of Safety, Health and Environmental considerations through the development and implementation phases of the project.

The successful Mechanical Project Engineer - Demolition will likely possess the below skills:

• Mechanical Engineer by trade. Proven background in Project Managing the delivery of Mechanical projects. Ideally Demolition projects.
• Must have experience of supporting the project to final hand over, engaging with Stakeholders/ User Groups/ Procurement/Suppliers.
• Experience of working through the full project lifecycle.
• Knowledge and experience of working within a highly regulated environment as well as an understanding of cGMP/FDA requirements would be a distinct advantage.
• Strong ability in working with a Project matrix organisation – ability to deliver independently as well as part of a team.
