Mechanical Supervisor - Energy - Cheshire

Are you a Mechanical Supervisor looking for your next contract? Quanta may have the position for you. Our client develops and implement highly efficient solutions for thermal utilisation and have a strong portfolio of successfully delivered customised turnkey energy from waste plants across the globe. They are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to come on board and join their current Cheshire based project.

Responsibilities

Make sure the contractors are working according to the priorities defined with the project team, and in accordance with the general program of work.
Monitor weekly the progress of the main contractor with a precise follow-up (site welds/inches weld and weight) and in conjunction of the Construction Manager / Site Director.
Chair a weekly progress meeting
In conjunction with the quality site manager, ensure the contractors works quality is as per the specification.
Identify technical issues, propose solution, and report back
Maintain a snag list + manage the client snag list.
Main activity is boiler and furnace erection, however other supervision will be done as follow.
Make sure the subcontractor gets the area for work as per schedule. Identify in advance any area delayed, and update the revised program for issue to the subcontractor
Make sure the subcontractor is involving the right number of staff to perform the work according to the area available (enough and not too many workers)
Manage the end of construction snagging list and the hand over to the commissioning team.
Coordinate the works with the other subcontractor on site
Maintain a master of documentation at site and make sure the contractor are working with latest drawing revision

Requirements

Experience within Energy from Waste or similar (biomass, gasification etc)
Mechanical background – worked on Boiler, Steel Structures & Piping Installation
