Process Engineer – Biotechnology – 12 Month Contract – County Limerick

Ireland is a hive of activity for the Life Sciences Sector at present with global players setting up new and expanding existing manufacturing facilities all over the country. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work via Quanta on the client’s side for a global pharmaceutical organisation on a major expansion project based in the picturesque Munster region of Ireland. 

Located just 20 minutes from the nearest international airport, the manufacturing site is workable for those wishing to commute to/from Ireland for a contract position.

Process Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Design and specify cGMP process equipment, piping, and controls.
  • Scope and update functional Design Specifications (FDS) for automation updates on process
  • equipment.
  • Manage small-to-mid sized projects related to process equipment and manufacturing. Types of equipment exposed to are as follows: WFI, CIP, Bioreactors, Centrifuges, Chromatography, Media
  • Prep, Buffer Prep and UFDF.
  • Assist in the design review, site acceptance and installation of equipment.
  • Update piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and other related drawings.
  • Update Process Flow Diagrams for manufacturing processes.
  • Support QA Validation department by preparation of design documents and assists in protocol execution.
  • Assist in investigations of process equipment, utility systems, and control system anomalies, as well as safety incidents.
  • Identify and implement corrective/preventative actions (CAPAs) for existing qualified GMP equipment and manufacturing processes through site change control process.
About you:
  • Require BS/BEng in Chemical, Process or Mechanical engineering
  • 3 - 5 years related experience.
  • Direct experience with biopharmaceutical process equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with compliance systems that document site change controls and corrective actions (CAPAs) e.g. Trackwise, Process Compliance, would be hugely beneficial but not a requirement.
