Quantity Surveyor– Energy from Waste - Contract

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next contract? Our client is a leading global industrial and energy company spanning across all five continents and are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to help them in their mission towards a sustainable future. Positioned strategically, the company plays a vital role in the ongoing energy transition, serving as a leading integrated green utility with a global footprint.


Responsibilities include:
  • Cost estimate, cost planning and cost management
  • Updating of Site Budget
  • Valuation of construction work
  • Measures and values completed works from Subcontractors for authorisation of payment
  • Liaise with Site Engineers and Site planner with regards to subcontractors progress and completed works
  • Measure and value work in progress and examine any deviations from original subcontract
  • Analysing terms and conditions in the subcontracts
  • Provide commercial support on all Site operations
  • Advise on contractual claims and disputes with subcontractors
  • Liaise with HQ contract manager and commercial manager with regards to claims from subcontractors
  • Examine plans and specifications and prepare details of the material and labour required for the project.
  • Monitor sub-contractors and stages of construction in liaison with Site planner
    Report on costs and prepare accounts for payment

Skills required:
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in engineering principles, structural analysis, construction materials, and relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to identify and resolve engineering challenges that may arise during construction.
  • Efficiently manage tasks, prioritise assignments, and meet project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance during construction.
