Our client develops and delivers life changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth, they are looking for a Sustainability SME to help support operations at their Maryland facility.
With their Drug Substance manufacturing network growing rapidly, they are committed to growing their portfolio of commercial biologics products supplied worldwide – and this is your opportunity to be involved!
Sustainability SME Responsibilities:
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure project Specific Sustainability and Environmental Protection objectives/goals/KPIs are clearly defined and agreed.
- Coordinating between internal stakeholders and external parties to provide a single AZ point of contact for sustainability considerations, ensuring Sustainability targets and requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Ensure the project team has made all relevant Sustainability Specifications available to the Design Contractor. This shall include One SHE Standard - Minimum Environmental Protection Requirement, and Global Engineering documents – e.g. Environmental Excellence Best Practice Standard and Energy Modelling Guide, Sustainability Checklist documenting project commitments from previous stages.
- Review Contractor response to the Project Technical Requirements to ensure Sustainability requirements are correctly included.
- Attend Project meetings on an as required basis to provide Sustainability support
- Support the Project Manager in developing project specific Sustainability Delivery Plan (SDP)
- Provide guidance on Sustainability processes and governance to Project Team and Work Package Owner teams
- Covering all aspects of sustainability (environmental protection) work scope including but not limited to: Facility design including architectural and MEP services and all aspects of Process design. This is inclusive of operational energy and carbon, Embodied carbon, Water, and Waste.
- Facilitate stage review of Global Engineering Sustainability Checklist
- Coordinate compliance with the Sustainability standards.
- Work with Project manager and PTM to ensure there is an agreed Sustainability performance evaluation methodology on the project.
- Support verification analysis and reporting to ensure reports are produced at each project stage to demonstrate that core objectives have been met.
- Strong collaborator with ability to create and maintain effective working relationships and willing to challenge behaviours and actions.
- Demonstrated practitioner of practical problem-solving.
- Detail focused completer/finisher with a results-orientated mindset.
- Strong leadership qualities with motivational ability to direct others in a dynamic and complex environment through change.
- Collaborate and work in partnership with multiple customer teams to deliver programme/project objectives,
- High profession standards, holding themselves and other in the team to deliver Sustainability outcomes to committed deadlines.
