As a company, we're incredibly proud of our successes. The achievements we are perhaps most proud of are those of our team, who go above and beyond day after day in order to deliver the best possible results to our candidates and clients.

One team member who exemplifies this spirit is Tom Gorton, a Principal Consultant who started with us in October 2013. He's quickly climbed the ranks, racking up success after success and enjoying every step of the way. He spoke to us about why he loves his work.

 

What was your work history before joining Quanta?

Before joining Quanta in 2013, I spent a year within the technology industry delivering best-in-class training experiences for a popular mobile phone manufacturer. I also spent two-and-a-half years working in the recruitment field, responsible for the delivery of permanent employees within the engineering and scientific areas. This experience has stood me in good stead at Quanta, where I deliver highly skilled consultants in the pharmaceuticals industry.

What made you want to work at Quanta?

When I made the decision to move on from my previous company, there were many important factors I was looking for in a new role. Having worked in a very “typical” sales environment, a more supportive and collaborative working environment where I could grow as an individual was key. I was also seeking a clear career path and an organisation where I could see myself several years from now.

Having interviewed with several organisations and received offers from them all, Quanta came out on top with a refreshing approach, a clear promotion structure, an open and friendly environment and a genuine niche within the market place.

What are your favourite things about working at Quanta?

I am genuinely interested in the industry that we deliver to and living and breathing this day-to-day has allowed me to develop and grow my knowledge base. We have a collaborative working environment, which in recruitment - a very saturated and competitive industry - is very rare. Having been within a very KPI-orientated sales environment where pressure was constant, the development and support focus that Quanta has is very refreshing. It also helps that I can now drive to work and no longer have to fight the commuters for a space on the tube – especially in the summer months!

How have you progressed through Quanta so far?

I joined Quanta as an RC1, where I spent the first period learning the industry. I knew recruitment but there were so many other aspects to the area where Quanta deliver to. After this initial period, I launched into developing my client base.

I have achieved two promotions in my time here, grown my platform and I am currently embarking on my next step into management.

Why do you think Quanta is a good place to start and develop your career?

Quanta is a great company for both new and experienced recruiters. For those that are new into recruitment we offer two comprehensive training programmes – Fast Track to Delivery Executive and Fast Track to Sales, plus a growth plan from there on. For the more experienced recruiters such as myself, there is also comprehensive training and development on offer and a collaborative environment where people are willing to help.

What has been your biggest achievement at Quanta so far?

I have achieved quite a bit since joining Quanta. I think I am most proud of achieving consistent growth on my platform over the last 2 years.
