Commercial Project Director - Renewables - Contract - Hamburg

Our client, a renowned Global Offshore Wind Developer, is actively looking for a Commercial Project Director to join their esteemed team. They possess a comprehensive range of expertise across the entire offshore wind value chain. This includes greenfield development, engineering and design, procurement, financing, corporate power purchase agreements, construction, as well as operations and asset management. With an impressive portfolio, they currently have over 20GW of projects in various stages of development.


Commercial Project Director Responsibilities:
  • Reports to the Project Director and is together with the EPC Project Director an integral part of the senior project leadership assigned to ensure development and execution of the project most efficiently and effectively.
  • Driving commercial management of the project, coordinating and supervising the project’s commercial functions ensuring that budgets, as well as business case assumptions/targets are defined, robust, progressing and achieved. Ensuring informed and objective decision making.
  • Leading and managing functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Lead BC and budgeting development and control processes (from input to quality assurance to change management).
  • Implementing adequate controls, monitoring, and regular reporting of key project financial/commercial information.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the following areas: non-EPC procurement, risk, controlling, claims, legal, project finance, power purchase agreements, valuation, customs, and tax.
  • Interfacing with Partnering, JV Management, Investor Relations.
  • Being the commercial sparring partner for the Project Director and the EPC Director.

About you:
  • Proven track record in dealing with business critical, commercial, highly complex objectives and challenges, preferably from offshore wind and an international organisation.
  • Energetic, communicative, and inspiring/convincing leader able to focus on both business and people. Experience from working globally across different cultures is preferred.
  • Integrity, commercial acumen, analytics, integration and communication skills.
  • People leadership and project management skills.
  • Full proficiency in English and Microsoft suite.
