Linux Administrator

Linux Adminstrator - Permanent - IT - Valencia

New freelance opportunity for a Linux Administrator to join an international IT organisation, working onsite at their Valencia office, or remote from within Europe. This is an English-speaking role and the client will run a single stage Teams interview for shortlisted candidates in early September, with a view to onboard someone later that month or in October. The role will suit someone with at least 3 years of Linux experience, that has good communication skills, and who can work in a multicultural and multi-loctaion organisation.

As a Linux Admin you will:

• Work as a member of the Linux support team
• Provide production support, troubleshoot problems, provide incident and problem management and monitor and escalate as needed.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the disaster recovery procedures and collaborate with other teams as needed.
• Provide technical documentation. 
• Provide on call or out of hours support if required.

To be considered, you will have the following:

• Solid background in the RedHat administration and with tools such as Satellite
• Hands on experience in Ansible
• Relevant experience on UNIX/Linux internals and commonly used UNIX/Linux Open-source applications (Apache, Tomcat, Open SSH, etc.)
• Experience with system monitoring tools like SAR and Datadog
• Good knowledge of scripting languages (Korn, Perl, Python.)
• English language skills
• Ability to work well with colleagues in different geographical locations
