SQL Relational Data Specialist - Remote / Valencia - Contract

New long term contract opportunity for a SQL Server specialist that can help with designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems and services for our international customer. The selected
consultant will also be responsible for automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as
Ansible, PowerShell and Terraform so you must have this experience. 

The client will run single stage Teams interviews in late September with a view to onboard someone in October 2023. This role can be fully remote or worked onsite in Valencia, Spain.

As the Relational Data Expert you will:

• Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance of SQL servers including incident management, user service requests and service restorations.
• Follow-up on problem management cases including problem detection, logging, categorisation, investigation, diagnosis, and complete resolution plans.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for database automation.
• Develop and maintain Terraform templates for provisioning and managing infrastructure as code. 
• Test and validate automation and infrastructure as code in a test environment before deploying to production
• Collaborate with other teams to understand their database requirements and provide solutions.
• Provide on call services one week every month.

You will have:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and administration (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB…), including Relational and non-Relational database systems
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, database design, and administration.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
