At Quanta we’re regularly recruiting for great people to join our team. If you’re considering a career in recruitment, what are some of the key traits that will help you find success?

Effective communicator

You’ll need to have great communications skills – over the phone, written and face to face – and should be confident dealing with people of all abilities, at every level. And this doesn’t just mean speaking – it’s about listening, asking questions and really engaging with clients, candidates and colleagues alike.

Positive attitude

There’s no doubt about it – recruitment is hard work. When you’re new to the industry you’ll have to be prepared to invest time in building up your contacts and developing relationships, which means working around your clients and candidates. It can be tough getting through to the people you need to speak to, but by staying positive you should be able to find ways to work around this and get results.

Results-driven

At Quanta we do things a little differently, and don’t set KPIs for our team. That’s because we know that everyone will work towards achieving the best possible results. Great recruiters will be target-driven, motivated by success and be able to manage their time effectively to achieve their goals.

Team player

If you want to get a good reputation – and progress your career – teamwork is crucial. Whether it’s asking for help with a tricky role, working together to match candidates or simply lending a hand to a member of your team when they need it the most, if you’re great at working with others you’ll be far more likely to get ahead.

Tech savvy

The way we recruit is changing – it’s no longer about an advert in the local paper or networking events. Our team utilise a whole range of tools in their day to day life – from job boards and social media channels through to online CRM (customer relationship management) systems. So if you’re a fast learner who’s comfortable with all things digital you’ll be at a real advantage.
