As the demand for top talent continues to increase, research from Indeed has revealed what top performers have in common and what attracts them most to a new job.

Over 1,000 hiring managers were asked what they felt was the number one attribute of the most impressive top performers they’d worked with. Problem solving came out on top, closely followed by passion, strategic thinking, self-direction and drive.

Indeed also surveyed almost 4,000 jobseekers and of those recognised as top performers, 95% revealed that they look for job opportunities at least a few times a year, with 79% looking at new jobs monthly.

When it comes to considering a new job offer, a good location and flexible hours were rated as the most important factors other than pay and benefits. And with 83% more likely to pick an employer with a better work/team environment, the people they’ll be working with are far more important than employer reputation.
